Your Life.
Your legacy.

It’s time to bring your journey to life

The world sees the victories. The trophies. The records. The headline-grabbing moments.

What they don’t see—the part that truly defines you—are the moments in between. The lonely mornings training in the freezing rain. The nights spent in the weight room, exhausted but pushing through one. more. rep. The missed birthdays and weddings, the sacrifices, the times spent doubting if it’s all freaking worth it.

But you persevered. You put in the work. You broke barriers. And after all the sweat, the sacrifice, the pain, you’ve accomplished something remarkable. A legacy worth celebrating.

Yet too often your story is reduced to brief soundbites and fleeting headlines. A stat line. A viral clip.

Your journey is more than that. It’s richer. Deeper. More powerful. And it deserves to be told the right way.

That’s where I come in.

I’m Matt Keyser, a ghostwriter with nearly 20 years of experience telling the stories of the world’s most captivating athletes. I’ve spent my career speaking with athletes like you—digging into the moments that shaped them, the struggles they endured, the victories that meant the most. And I’ve seen firsthand how often these stories get watered down, simplified, or outright ignored.

Not here.

This isn’t just about writing—it’s about capturing you. The full, unfiltered, real you—with all the highs, lows, and moments in between.

Whether it’s a magazine-length feature for your website or a deeply personal memoir, I’m here to help you tell your story. In your voice. In your words. In the way it's meant to be told.

The world has seen the highlights.

Now let’s show them the journey it took to get there.

How it Works

This is a collaboration. Your insights, memories, and reflections are the heart of your story, and my job is to bring them to life in a real, authentic way.

First things first, let's schedule a complimentary discovery call to discuss your story:  what moments define your journey, what message you want to share, and how we can best bring it to life.

Then over the course of six months, we'll dive into every aspect of your journey. I need you to be as open about your struggles as you are your victories. Your honesty and openness will captivate readers. Please plan to dedicated between two and four hours each week for interviews, reviews, and feedback. I can't stress this enough: Without your input, I cannot tell your story properly.

Here’s a glimpse of what the process looks like:

  • 1. Discovery

Together, we’ll embark on a journey to uncover the essence of your story. Through multiple in-depth interviews, we’ll dive into your experiences, celebrating the hard work, triumphs, and defining moments that have shaped your life.

  • 2. Writing

This is where the magic happens. I'll transform your story into a compelling, professionally written narrative. You'll still play a vital role—providing key details and filling in gaps—as we craft a story that's as authentic as it is captivating.

  • 3. Editing

This is your chance to take the reins. I’ll share a draft of your story, giving you the opportunity to review, refine, and make it truly yours—whether it’s adding personal anecdotes, tweaking details, or adjusting the flow.

  • 4. Designing

Your story deserves to look as good as it reads. From selecting the perfect cover to designing the interior layout, we’ll create a book that leaves a lasting impression and resonates with your fans.

MATT KEYSER / FOUNDER
Husband. Girl dad. Storyteller. Amateur cook. Slow af runner.

I wrote my first story in second grade—a tale about a talking house. I can't remember much about it other than I thought it was the best story a second-grader had ever written. I was so proud I read it in front of my class, a brave task for one of the shyest kids you would have ever met. That was a lifetime ago, but the passion never faded. Today, I'm a narrative non-fiction writer with nearly 20 years of experience, telling compelling, deeply personal stories that resonate with readers. My work has been published in The Washington Post, USA Today, CNN, and in newspapers and TV stations across the country.

I believe great storytelling isn’t just about the big wins and headline moments; it’s about the struggles, the sacrifices, and the overall journey. Whether it’s a powerful magazine-length feature or a full-length memoir, my job is to help you tell your story in a way that’s real, raw, and unforgettable.

Because your journey deserves more than just a highlight reel.

FAQs

What is a ghostwriter?

Think of me like a hired gun, but with a laptop and a knack for storytelling. Through in-depth interviews, research, and drawing on my years of experience as a narrative non-fiction writer, I’ll help bring your story to life in a way that's authentically you.

So I don’t have to write a word?

Not a single one! But I highly encourage you to offer feedback along the way to ensure every detail is an accurate account of your journey.

But I’ll be listed as the author?

Yes! This is your story; I'm just helping you piece it together in a compelling way. You get all the credit.

Will my book sound like it’s written by me?

Absolutely! My job is to capture your voice, your experiences, and your personality on the page. When you read it, it should feel like you wrote every word.

How involved do I need to be?

This is a real team effort. No one knows your story better than you, so I need you to be present, available, and—most importantly—willing to share your whole journey, both the good and the bad.

what if i’m not sure what parts of my story to include?

That's why we sit down and discuss everything. My job is helping identify the moments, themes, and details that make your story powerful, while trimming the fat, so to speak, that detracts from your journey.

how can you ensure confidentiality with my story until i’m ready to share it?

Because my reputation depends on it. You're trusting me with the most personal moments of your life, and that's a trust I take seriously. Everything we discuss remains confidential, and nothing will be shared or published without your approval. (Plus, I've never liked TMZ anyway.)

do you only ghostwrite for athletes?

Not at all! While I love working with athletes, I believe everyone has a story worth sharing. If you have a story to tell, I'd be honored to help you bring it to life.
